Wow! It’s the end; the end of high school. Words can not explain how excited yet shaken I am about how fast it’s coming to a close. I knew that one day I would be on my own but it’s actually about to happen. As I look back at my first years, I know that I wasn’t fit to be on my own. I actually would have lost my mind, but over the past few years, I have accumulated so much knowledge about the real world that I feel prepared. I never could have imagined that I would be the waitress serving other families or the driver during a long road trip with my friends. I’ve always been the baby of the family. Now the baby is growing up. I’ve become more mature. I know how to fix problems and not hold grudges. I know how to be professional. I understand the value of money and how it doesn’t grow on trees.
I’ve always had a goal or a vision. I’ve always had a plan. That’s why I worked so hard to get to where I am today. With the support from people like my parents, Mr. Andrew Cox, Dr. Caryn Turner, Mr. Jason Beavers, and all of the other amazing teachers that I have had the pleasure of knowing, I feel as if I am more than prepared for the next step in reaching my ultimate goal. I want to thank everyone who pushed me when I wanted to quit, made me laugh when I wanted to cry, and stood up for me when I was too upset to say anything at all.
This is it. This is the closing chapter. I’m ready to move on to college and enjoy the incredible ending to the wonderful, successful 4 years at Jonesboro High School.
