"Teachers must remember that students are human, and their well-being, including the issues they care about, must be treated as necessary. Classrooms need to resemble a community where all students feel confident, accepted, and safe. Teachers must prepare to not only impact their students’ learning capacity of one subject area but contribute to their student’s life experience. Therefore, in any classroom, I ask myself, What do I want to contribute to these students’ lives?" - Kimberly Oglesby
