I intend to attend a doctoral program and expand my expertise as a 20th century political and cultural historian. I desire to teach in higher education and influence K-12 social studies education, particularly in Title 1 school districts with disadvantaged populations. I believe in culturally competent historical education in the curriculum along with creative programming with real-world connections and community engagement that mentor young students into thriving scholars.
